Where We Fit

When an embedded engineer is the right call

A practical way to self-assess fit before you book a call. If several of these describe your situation, a discovery call is worth your time.

Note: these are illustrative scenarios to help you gauge fit — not descriptions of past client engagements. We are a new practice and will only publish real, client-approved outcomes once we have them.

A prototype that stalled before production

You have an AI proof-of-concept that demos well but cannot get past integration, security review, or "who owns this in production?" An embedded engineer takes it the last — and hardest — mile.

A high-judgment workflow you want to augment

A process that depends on scarce expert time and is a bottleneck to scale. A forward deployed engineer designs the human-in-the-loop system that increases throughput without lowering the bar.

Knowledge- or document-heavy operations

Teams spending hours retrieving, summarizing, or reconciling information across siloed systems. A good target for retrieval and automation built into your existing stack.

You need senior AI capability faster than you can hire

The talent to do this in-house is scarce and a six-month recruit. Embedding an engineer gets the work moving now — and leaves your team able to run it.

A security- or compliance-constrained environment

Regulated data, strict controls, and a low tolerance for vendor risk — conditions where most AI vendors cannot operate. Working inside your controls is the default here, not an upgrade.

You want capability, not just a deliverable

You do not want a black box you cannot maintain. The engagement is structured so your team builds alongside ours and owns everything when we leave.

Honest scoping

When we are not the right fit

Trust is the asset in this business. If your situation looks like the list below, we will say so on the call rather than take the engagement.

  • You want a fixed-scope deliverable with no access to your systems or team.
  • There is no measurable outcome — the goal is "explore AI" with no target.
  • No internal owner will exist to run the solution after handover.
  • The real need is a strategy deck, not a system shipped to production.
  • AI is not actually the right tool for the problem — we will tell you if so.

Does your situation look like one of these?

Book a discovery call. We will pressure-test the fit honestly and tell you whether — and how — an embedded engagement gets you to production.
